Client brief

For this beautiful property in Walton-On-Thames, the client sought to transform a compact space into a "luxurious shower room" defined by unique features and a strict monochrome theme. The challenge was to balance a bold, high-contrast aesthetic with the practical limitations of a smaller room. The goal was to achieve an elegant, minimalist feel that utilised premium textures to create a "wow factor" without overwhelming the space.

The process

To prevent a small room from feeling enclosed by a monochrome palette, our designer focused on "textural contrast" and "visual expansion." We utilised the marble-effect of Statuario tiles to provide a bright, airy foundation that reflects light, while using brushed black chrome as a sophisticated "ink-stroke" throughout the room. By specifying wall-hung fixtures and recessed mirrored storage, we cleared the floor and wall planes, a technique that artificially expands the perception of space. This careful curation ensures the room feels like a curated gallery of high-end fixtures.

What we did

Signature Metallic Accents: Specified the alluring Axor Citterio collection in brushed black chrome, including the basin spout, waste, and shower suite, to serve as the room's primary luxury focal point.

Cohesive Monochrome Details: Complemented the brassware with a glass black Oli flush plate, creating a consistent and intentional design language across all functional elements.

Space-Saving Luxury: Installed a StoneKAST Uni wall-hung toilet, clearing the floor area to maximise the sense of space and simplify maintenance.

Classic Stone Foundation: Utilised Classic Statuario wall tiles from our European Tiles collection, using the natural grey veining to accentuate the sharp, black chrome fixtures.

Perceptual Lighting: Integrated a Saneux Inside illuminated mirror cabinet, which serves the dual purpose of providing essential storage and bouncing light to expand the room's proportions.

Timeless Contemporary Finish: Delivered a "high-end luxurious" retreat that has maintained its elegance since its completion in 2018, proving the longevity of a well-executed minimalist design.
